Platinum is firmly committed to the safety and well-being of not only our employees, but all persons that our activities may affect.  We do everything possible to prevent workplace accidents and we are committed to providing a safe working environment for all employees. Platinum urges that every employee helps to perpetuate these policies and procedures. We require employees to report any unsafe work practices or safety hazards encountered on the job immediately, no matter how minor they may appear.  Platinum provides various training courses to our field personnel as well as supervisors depending on each worker’s specific role.  Below are some of the courses we provide to our employees:

In addition to the courses taken by our employees, Platinum maintains a Health and Safety Program manual which specifically outlines our safety and training procedures.  Platinum’s current Experience Modification Ratio (EMR) is .90 and has consistently been at this level since inception.

We are dedicated to researching to continuously improve the technical aspects of our operation by implementing “green” technologies that minimize our impact on the environment.  In recognition of our environmental initiatives, Platinum was nominated in 2003 as the Environmental Company of the Year by the International Facility Managers Association.

Platinum executives collaborate with our suppliers to identify risks and create environmental sustainable development.  Our involvement not only minimizes the impact to our environmental health, but sets a precedent for our industry’s future while also providing the highest quality results for our clients. The preferred products and services utilized by Platinum are the following:

Platinum has two fleets of vehicles—commercial vans used to provide services, and management vehicles.  The Vice President of Operations ensures that our commercial vans are regularly serviced to provide maximum efficiency to minimize emissions. Our management, travel only in hybrid vehicles.  Platinum is committed to exploring the feasibility of using alternative-fuel vehicles for commercial use, which includes: hybrids, bio-diesel engines, and electric. 


Our insurance and risk management program consists of the following coverage:  Property, Inland Marine, Commercial General Liability, Business Auto, Excess Liability, Crime, Workers Compensation, and New York State Disability.

Our Property policy covers our personal property at all our locations and includes the perils of flood and earthquake. Under our Inland Marine policy, coverage is provided on all our scheduled equipment. Our Inland Marine policy also includes provisions that address equipment leased or rented from others, as well as coverage for employee tools.

Our Commercial General Liability was thoughtfully crafted to include $2,000,000 Each Occurrence; $4,000,000 General Aggregate and $4,000,000 Products/Completed Operations. The benefit to our clients in having these particular limits is that we are sensitive to recent New York Appellate Division decisions that have established the applicability of “horizontal exhaustion” of insurance in cases involving contractors.  Special Endorsements include Blanket Additional Insured for both On-Going and Completed Operations, Waiver of Subrogation, Primary and Non Contributory Wording, Per Project Aggregate of $10,000,000.

Our Excess Liability program consists of three layers that total $25,000,000 Per Occurrence and $25,000,000 Aggregate excess of our primary liability coverage.

Under our Business Auto policy that covers our fleet of vehicles we carry $1,000,000 of Automobile Liability, $1,000,000 of Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist Liability as well as Comprehensive and Collision coverage.

Lastly, our Worker’s Compensation cost is under 1% as evaluated against our total revenue.
