METAL
Entrances, facades, elevators, window frames and signage often contain stainless steel, bronze, aluminum and decorative metal. These materials require attention to ensure that the aesthetic appearance retains its original luster.
STONE
Whether its marble, terrazzo, limestone or granite, stone is used in many high traffic areas throughout a property, including lobby floors, sidewalks, plazas, passenger elevator lobbies and on walls and facades. Stone requires maintenance to preserve its integrity and finish.
WOOD
Wood is usually chosen for its warm feeling and ability to be easily shaped. From cherry to bamboo to synthetic laminates, this attractive material requires regular conditioning and maintenance.
TERRAZZO & RESINOUS
Platinum brings the elegance and beauty of terrazzo and resinous flooring to clients throughout the Tri-State area. With infinite design possibilities, our experienced craftsmen work with designers, architects, builders, and owners to provide quality (award-winning) flooring for interior and exterior use.

Platinum specializes in all types of facade restoration and curtain wall projects including cleaning, power washing, brick pointing, stone repair, caulking, exterior painting, and historic preservation.
METAL
OUR METAL SERVICES INCLUDE:
Maintenance & Cleaning
A contracted or one-time cleaning and conditioning can be initiated. This process preserves the integrity of the metal and assists in protecting and maintaining its beauty.
Refinishing
Stripping and re-graining restores the metal, and a spray application of industrial lacquers, polyurethanes or enamel protects metal surfaces and the underlying layers to bring back the proper luster.
Oxidizing
Not to be confused with natural oxidization, this is a chemically induced process that is applied to darken the metal and then highlighting to various degrees of colors ranging from black, dark, medium to light statuary. A coating is then applied to protect the metal.
Vandalism or Scratch Removal
Hand or Machine removal of vandalism or scratches and metal re-graining restores luster and creates an untarnished surface.
Fabrication and Installation
Metal fabrication and installation to match adjacent areas ensures a consistent finish throughout a property.

WOOD
One of the most intriguing characteristics of wood to Platinum is its sheer versatility. Another lesser-known benefit of wood construction material is its advantageous thermal properties. Wood can tolerate a wide range of temperature fluctuations without warping, contracting, or expanding significantly. Platinum is very well versed in all things wood. When working with wood, cutting corners, will not deem transcendent results. Platinum is well aware of that fact.
OUR WOOD MAINTENANCE AND SERVICES INCLUDE:
Wood Repair/Restore
Thoroughly strip to remove existing coating, repair scratches and gouges with wood filler, stain to match existing color, and apply clear coat lacquer.
Wood Polish
Thoroughly clean to remove existing polish and wax coating and hand polish with wood preservative to ensure a uniform luster.
Wood Floor-Clear
Machine-sand bi-directional, apply one coat of sealer and two coats of clear (semi-gloss/gloss/satin), then finish with polyurethane.
Wood Floor Stain
Machine-sand bi-directional, re-stain to match existing finish, and apply two coats of clear (semi-gloss/gloss/satin).
Wood Touch-up
Thoroughly clean, remove scratches and blemishes, refinish to match existing tone, grain, and sheen of the wood panels.
TERRAZZO AND RESINOUS
From simple to sophisticated, from classic to contemporary, Platinum brings the elegance and beauty of terrazzo and resinous flooring to clients throughout the Tri-State area. With infinite design possibilities, our experienced craftsmen work with designers, architects, builders, and owners to provide quality (award-winning) flooring for interior and exterior use.
Our company is dedicated to providing the finest, highest quality flooring installations in a reliable, efficient, and environmentally friendly manner. With every installation, we are committed to servicing our customers with flooring solutions that provide superior value, leading edge design, and unmatched durability.
BENEFITS OF TERRAZZO:
Durability
Considered so durable that it often outlasts the building it resides in, terrazzo can withstand years of punishing traffic while maintaining its performance. Perfect for high traffic areas, terrazzo doesn’t wear out, is virtually impervious to water, and because of its seamless installation, is perfect for hospitals and other areas where sanitary conditions are at a premium.
Elegance
The elegance and beauty of terrazzo is a crafted blend of fine quality materials such as marble, quartz, granite, and glass, fused in composition with cement or epoxy, ground, and polished to provide a smooth, durable composite flooring solution.
Functionality
Resinous flooring, while also being durable like terrazzo flooring, serves as the perfect flooring for environments that often face extreme conditions. It can withstand environments of extreme hot and cold, as well as corrosion. It is often used in pharmaceutical companies, hospitals, and food processing plants because of its ability to inhibit the reproduction of microorganisms and less odor during installation as well as being slip resistant.
Versatility
If you can imagine it, the artisans at Platinum can create it. Because of its composition, terrazzo is supremely customizable. Any color, any design—from official seals and logos, to geometric patterns—both indoor and outdoor.
Sustainability
One of the original “green” products, Terrazzo dates back more than 1,500 years when it was created by Venetian workers using discarded marble chips.
Today’s Platinum installations embrace that same reuse/recycle ethic by utilizing recycled content and low-emissions epoxy to create floors that are extremely durable and easy to maintain. Corporations, hospitals, schools, airports, and government buildings all turn to Platinum for their sustainable flooring needs.

FAÇADE RESTORATION
The façade is one of the building’s most important exterior elements. It not only sets an unspoken expectation, but also defines the feel of the overall structure. Platinum is the premier company selected by all major owners and landlords to maintain their facades for their commercial, residential and historical building assets. We know the significance of maintaining a building’s exterior from the deteriorating effects of moisture, pollutants, and other inferior materials. Platinum partners with GC’s, architects, engineers, building owners and property managers to ensure that the project is done right and within budget. A thorough evaluation will be made to address and recommend any immediate repairs. Then, Platinum’s project team will work with you in all phases of the façade restoration project from preliminary investigations and surveys, sample mock-ups, and submittals, to final inspections. After the restoration, a complete maintenance and operations program will be developed to extend the life cycle of the work.
THE IMPORTANCE OF FAÇADE RESTORATION:
Local Law 11 of 1998, also known as the Façade Inspection Safety Program (FISP), mandates the periodic inspection of the exterior walls and appurtenances of NYC buildings, greater than six stories in height, every five years. Local law 11 is designed to ensure pedestrian safety by preventing bricks, concrete, and other façade elements from falling. Platinum recognizes the importance of safety both on site, and once the job is completed.
To ensure safety while on site, all Platinum field personnel carry every required certification enforced by OSHA and the New York City Department of Buildings. Including: OSHA 30, NYC DOB SST Supervisor, NYC DOB SST Worker, 16 Hr. Suspended Scaffold User, 32 Hr. Suspended Scaffold Supervisor, 4 Hr. Supported Scaffold User, Special Rigger.
OUR FAÇADE RESTORATION INCLUDES:
Cleaning
A thorough cleaning of the building’s façade not only enhances the overall look and appeal, but it also removes damaging pollutants, stains and leaks which can accelerate the facade’s deterioration and later cost significant amounts to repair. Platinum’s technicians clean metal and stone surfaces by hand scrubbing or power washing using either water or biodegradable cleaners.
Caulking
Platinum’s technicians carefully and meticulously rake out loose, cracked caulk, then re-caulks and seals all seams and open joints with our top-of-the-line products. When applied at a professional level, our caulk can blend in with the surrounding area seamlessly.
Painting
Platinum selects and works with quality paint, best suited for the facade’s longevity and ensures that the best tools and materials are used to produce both precision and perfection. Platinum’s experts prepare the surface by masking, sanding to remove loose or flaking paint, priming and painting with techniques such as electrostatic painting, hand rolling/brushing and intumescent paint application
Repairs/Replacements
Platinum provides repair services and troubleshoots faulty construction design or workmanship. Our repair work includes brick pointing, masonry repair and replacement, troubleshooting and solving water intrusion, damaged building surfaces and providing exterior waterproofing maintenance problems.
Platinum has the expertise of restoring historic landmark buildings and working with the New York City Landmarks Preservation Committee. Our experience in historic restoration is essential for dealing with the sensitivity and complexities that arise when restoring aesthetics and architectural qualities of Landmark buildings. We work closely with the Landmarks committee to make sure we only use approved products and procedures for building capital improvement projects. We also perform a preliminary inspection and a full building survey and evaluation. Platinum knows the proper cleaning methods and agents to use that are strong enough to remove dirt and grime, while safe enough to protect and preserve the delicate historical elements of the building.
Notable Historical Landmarks Include: New York Public Library (Stavros Nicharos Foundation Branch), 375 Park– Seagram Building, Equitable Building (120 Broadway), Woolworth Building (233 Broadway), Andrew Carnegie Mansion, Waldorf Astoria New York.
